Innovation

As part of a smaller product development team at FK Distribution, I launched a number of new digital concepts. For 8 months, we worked on developing new business ideas, conceptualizing, testing and validating them. The final concept became Gavie, a chatbot.

The concept had been developed during a long idation phase where the team made use of different types of concept development tools such as: Workshops, concept tests, qualitative and quantitative research and Google sprints just to name a few examples.

The concept was testet as a beta version as a chatbot in Facebook Messenger doing a period of two months. The content would match a set of criteria that the user had set, matching the gift recievers age, gender, type etc. Gavie was also usertested as an app in the form of a prototype made in Sketch and Invision – and was well recived by potential users.

Despite amazingly good feedback from potential users and good customer support, Gavie unfortunately became nothing but a beta version. It became a really good experience for me, and it was incredibly exciting to build a concept from the bottom that actually proofed it’s reliability towards the users and customers involved.

Among other things, I was responsible for developing Gavie’s brand identity. It was based on an analysis of how our target group would perceive a chatbot.
The pictures shows some of my sketches on the bot avatar.

I used Sketch and Invision to create a prototype, as Gavie was not only a Chatbot, it would also be an app solution. The prototype was used to test with potential users.
